Bad Situation Zippo trick:
Lighter laying on the table - hinge facing down. 

Grab the sides of the cap with index finger and thumb. 

Then twist the lighter around the hinge and so that the case of the lighter will end up in your palm. 

Turn the lighter out with your middle finger and thumb, holding the lighter with the index on the lid. 

Now try a snap to light the lighter.
